As the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) gets underway from December 5th, for the first time, Taiwanese titles and projects score in all four categories of the ATF Pitches, vying for both cash prizes as well as consultation packages. TAICCA is bringing attendees from Taiwan’s TV industry, presenting 252 projects from 100 content makers within its Taiwan pavilion. Also, for the first time, Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) will hold a networking event, Lunch Gathering with Taiwan, to connect content creators and television industry professionals to the international market.

TAICCA partners with ATF, holding a “Lunch Gathering with Taiwan” to foster exchange between companies and international buyers. Nine established companies present their market positions and projects to buyers.

Of the four ATF Pitch categories, two Taiwan projects have been selected for ATF X Beach House Scripted and Unscripted respectively. Islander, from Triple Film House, a contemporary fable with a magical realist style, is up for the Scripted Pitch, while The Yani Tseng Story, from Selected Entertainment, charts the comeback of Taiwan’s eponymous golfer, is presented in the Unscripted Pitch.

TAICCA presents Taiwan Pavilion at ATF, showcasing 252 titles and projects from 100 content makers.

Two further Taiwan projects are featured under ATF Pitches. Special Delivery, jointly presented by Singapore’s JUO Studios and Taiwan’s MaplessLab, features in the ATF IP Accelerator Project Market, while over in the ATF X TTB Animation Lab & Pitch, is Brian, from Taiwan’s Whatube Studios, fresh from pitching last month in the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF). TAICCA is a lead sponsor of ATF X TTB Animation Lab & Pitch, following on from its 2022 initiative bringing the international co-production workshop Ties That Bind (TTB) to Taiwan, linking producers from Europe and Asia and bringing international resources to connecting and training key industry decision-makers.

Homme Tsai, TAICCA’s chairperson says that with the revision of the Development of the Cultural and Creative Industries Act and budget injection of the One Plus Four T-Content Plan, more commonly referred to as the “Cultural Kuroshio Current”, the development of Taiwan’s TV content can welcome the prospect of tripling benefits in subsidy, investment and tax rebate. An industry vibrancy is expected with support from multiple channels. Through ATF’s connection to TV and film industries across Asia, Europe, and North America, Taiwan’s presence at ATF will give TV content from Taiwan international recognition.

ATF opens today, Dec 6th, in Singapore. Asia’s biggest market focusing on TV content attracts global content makers and international key buyers.

Apart from the aforementioned 252 titles and projects from 100 companies being presented under TAICCA’s Taiwan Pavilion, delegates from close to 60 Taiwanese companies will attend ATF for more direct contact with international industry attendees. Notable works here include the series Tabloid, from Mirror Fiction, about an entertainment reporter investigating the death of her colleague, and the series You are My Sister, from Gala Television, with its themes of love, family, and work. Taiwan Public Television Service (PTS) brings the series Imperfect Us, directed by Mag Hsu, best known for the popular film Dear Ex. Also featured is Boys Like Boys from Portico Media, billed as Taiwan’s first BL reality dating show, and Rock 40 Star Chaser from TVBS Media, which gathers music heavyweights from record label Rock Records for a new talent show.

To foster greater exchange between companies and international buyers, for the first time TAICCA in its partnership with ATF, is holding a Lunch Gathering with Taiwan for buyers. Nine established companies with healthy line-ups will present their companies’ market positions and their projects to the invited key international buyers and production companies. The nine featured companies are TVBS, SET TV, Studio 2 Animation Lab, Xanthus Animation Studio, Mada Ideas Company, Mirror Fiction, World Softest Production Film, Studio 76 and TWR Entertainment.

ATF is Asia’s biggest market focusing on TV content and is held annually in December in Singapore. With major streamers such as Netflix setting up regional headquarters in Singapore, ATF gathers TV content from Japan, Korea, Thailand, China, and elsewhere, while also presenting close business relations with industries in Europe and America.
