The 2022 Taiwan Film Festival in Australia, from 28 July to 13 August, took place in 4 cities, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra. With more than 30 screenings, 6 sold out sessions, 1 international panel discussion event, and 3 in-person Q&As with plenty of special international guests came from Taiwan, including GODDAMNED ASURA director Lou Yi-An, actress Huang Pei-Jia, and GREEN JAIL director Huang Yin-Yu. The festival brings in over thousands of attendees to enjoy Taiwanese cinemas. Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) has joined as the co-presenter of the event and seeks to build up solid and comprehensive relationships with Australian professionals.

The highlight of this year's festival is, for the very first time, the festival held an in-person international panel discussion, Industry Circle: Production, Screenwriting & International Partnership, with a stunning panellists line-up including TAICCA Director of Global Business Zoe Wang, TAICCA Content Lab Specialist Jennifer Huang, multi-award-winning film and television Producer Kylie du Fresne, 6 FESTIVALS Producer Michael Wrenn, GODDAMNED ASURA Director-scriptwriter Lou Yi-An, GREEN JAIL director Huang Yin-Yu, Sydney Film School founder and IN(DI)VISIBLE Director-writer Ben Ferris. The panel discussion aims to increase co-production projects and share the filmmaker's knowledge of the filmmaking process in Taiwan and Australia.

For the first time, TAICCA and the festival co-presented the Industry Circle, having international professionals clustered to discover the future of co-production. (TFF)

This year's Short Film Competition, co-presented with TAICCA, with more than 100 short films entries across multiple counties, including Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. This year's juries include cinematographer Matthew Chuang (YOU WON'T BE ALONE, OF AN AGE), actress Wang Yu-Xuan (GODDAMNED ASURA), and acclaimed Taiwanese film critic Cheng Pinhung. This year's winner GIRL IN THE WATER by Huang Shi-Ro was awarded for 1000 AUD cash prize.

The festival had about a hundread of publication coverages, including radio exposure, news report, film reviews, print and digital coverage on some of the prestigious channels such as The Sydney Morning Herald, ABC, The Age, Filmink, Screenhub, SBS Mandarin, Australia Chinese Daily, TVB Anywhere and many more.
