大會提供之原文活動簡介及相關說明:
What is GOTHAM WEEK: a centerpiece of the annual film and media calendar, returning to Brooklyn on September 30 thru October 4 with the renowned Gotham Week Project Market and Expo.
Gotham Week’s Project Market, the nation’s oldest and largest curated marketplace for film and TV creators, opens doors for groundbreaking film and media creators to build career-spanning relationships with distributors, financiers, production companies, festival programmers, sales and talent agents, and collaborators. The third annual Gotham Week Expo, an initiative of the Gotham’s Expanding Communities program, will showcase thought leadership on the advancement of the film and media industries while amplifying Gotham’s partner organizations, alumni, and communities. This year’s Expo will also incorporate industry-led sessions related to Branded Storytelling. These programs will be free to attend, and further details will be announced soon. Gotham Week programming will also include screenings of new films with corresponding events and opportunities for networking.
What is the PROJECT MARKET: The 2024 Gotham Week Project Market is a meetings-driven forum connecting new fiction and documentary projects in development with key industry executives interested in identifying projects for development, financing, or distribution. The Project Market is the longest-running event of its kind in the United States. In addition to opportunities for feedback and pitching, artists who participate in the Project Market often walk away with career-spanning relationships with distributors, financiers, production companies, festival programmers, sales and talent agents, collaborators, and others. These invaluable connections continue well beyond the confines of Gotham Week.
The Global Producers Hub section of the Project Market will present a cohort of US and International producers from countries around the globe, made possible thanks to The Gotham’s International year-round partnerships and activations. This section of Gotham Week will present a slate of projects to the film and media industry while also providing an international peer-to-peer network for producers to make connections and share resources. Over the course of the Project Market, selected filmmakers are invited to introduce their new works in development to hundreds of industry representatives from companies such as A24, Archer Gray, Kickstarter, IFC Films, MUBI, NEON, Park Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics, Sundance Institute, SFFilm, Topic Studios, WME, and more. Accepted filmmakers receive pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with industry professionals and invitations to networking events.
Narrative/fiction projects with a script at any stage of development (which needs to be attached in PDF in English) apply in the Global Producers Hub section of the Project Market. Basic application form requirements, other than some questions we ask such as main crew bios/info, project title, genre, if a sales is attached, projected total budget and financing in place, etc. are:
- Logline: up to 25 words
- Synopsis (main plot): up to 60 words
- Project Summary (a more detailed synopsis that may include notes about the project in general): up to 500 words
- Artistic Statement (What are you artistically trying to achieve? How would you describe your cinematic style? Why are you making this film? Who is the audience for your film? If selected for the Project Market what will be your objectives during Gotham Week?): up to 500 words
- Personal Statement (What is your personal connection, if any, to this story and the communities this story portrays? What work have you done to ensure that these characters and communities are authentically represented? Elaborate on your filmmaking and accountability practices): up to 500 words
